Totally agree! thumb.gif
Eye candy is indeed amazing. I'm still waiting for someone to hava a SweetFX preset for it.

Sad truth. Hopefully they'll make it more "customizable".
Had fan with my Wizard though. Moves like a Bender from Avatar every time he casts magic missiles. biggrin.gif

Looks amazing on 1440p with everything maxed, but any elf/half-elf eyes still give me the creeps.

All I know is that so far in my play I've found the rogue to be just ungodly OP, and the great weapon fighter to be just ungodly underpowered.

Seriously the great weapon fighter swings just horribly slow. You can charge up your swing but it takes quite awhile and you can barely move when doing so. His only benefit I see is that the sword will hit however many enemies are in it's path. He also gets a fairly decent whirlwind type skill (you can very rarely use it though).

The rogue on the other hand..Oh my how awesome and face roll is he, I see the nerf bat coming. By level 5 check out all I could do, and btw I killed every single boss I had fought w/o being touched one single time..

Your basic attack is fast as ever loving you know what. 3 quick left clicks and any standard enemy is dead in about 2 seconds. Another skill I have which cools down fast is pretty neat. You jump up, vanish and then reappear right on top of your enemy. This usually kills them right off the bat but even if it doesn't it stuns them for a couple of seconds. Your big skill (like the fighters whirlwind you can't use it very often) is amazing. You basically vanish and fly around all over the place striking every enemy around. If there is only one like say a boss it just shreds them to pieces. You also have a right click attack that is ranged. 12 knives can be quickly thrown at enemies, it's fairly weak but if you have all 12 cooled down you can easily kill 2 mobs before anything gets to you.

Last but not least I also have a decoy skill. Press one button and my rogue flips backwards. When he does though he spawns a ghost version of himself which enemies will attack. INCLUDING bosses. Yeah that's right, bosses. So lets see throw 12 knifes while running towards boss, vanish and land on his head doing massive damage plus stun. Then use big boy ability. Once that's done throw the decoy out and just run behind him whacking away.

Once again, this is all by level 5. I see no way the rogue survives beta and goes into launch this strong. Unless the games difficulty ramps up a ton there would be no challenge at all!

It is fun though smile.gif

Rogue gets stealth at level 10. Is total lols. Too bad the gameplay is go from A to B while verbing X of Y.

Yeah the game really seems to me to simply be an "arcade" version if you will of Turbines version of DDO. It's faster paced, has a lot less thinking involved but is set in a DDO world. This isn't to knock it though, as I said I find it kind of fun but I seriously doubt it would hold my attention for long.

So far I haven't seen the high quality graphics that others are reporting. For me it is leagues behind GW2's graphics (as an example).

The class and gear limitations are a real deal breaker for me though. It is supposed to be a form of D&D without Rangers, Paladins, Barbarians, or Sorcerers, with a Warlock eventually planned for after release? No thanks. Gear is not only bind on equip for the most part but also class limited as well. BoE was a bad mechanic back when WoW implemented it, and it hasn't gotten any better. Also, your character only gets one kind of weapon. If you want a Great Weapon Fighter with a Battle Axe or Bow, you're out of luck. You don't get anything but a Greatsword. Ever.

Then there are the races. They are way too limited for a D&D MMO. You can't even play a Gnome for crying out loud, much less a Genasi, Deva, or Dragonborn.

The powers are also way too few for this stage of development. You have no choice of At-Will powers, ever. You only ever have the option of two, which are automatically assigned to the left and right mouse keys. They get more powerful as you level up, but they never change and you never get a chance to choose anything else.

All in all, it really looks like a typical PW game. It is being released unfinished, with pie in the sky promises and hopes about the future. Take STO, another one of their MMOs. It was released 2 and a half years ago, with Romulans supposedly being one of the at release factions. Romulans will reportedly be a playable faction now in late May. Neverwinter may become playable with a graphics upgrade, more powers and weapon options for each class, more classes, and 2 and a half years of extra development. As it is, it isn't even worth F2P status.

.

That part is simply not true at all. You seriously couldn't have played for more then 3 minutes, and I mean honest to God 3 minutes.

By level 5 (which is about 20 minutes of play time) I had 5 skills that I could use at the same time. So where you get by saying 2 is beyond me, unless of course you are reviewing the game based on the first 180 seconds.

*edit*

I see now you meant just the left and right mouse button abilities. Even still it's not correct that they never change. Also how you can complain that you can only use 2 skills there baffles me, as guess what? The left and right mouse buttons are only TWO BUTTONS. So if you can tell me how 2 buttons can be used for more then 2 skills at the same time I'd love to know smile.gif

You are missing the point. Powers are separated into three groups. No cooldown, short coolown, and long cooldown. I am specifically talking about the need to be able to choose between numerous no cooldown powers. I know the mouse can be remapped. I know you get other powers with cooldowns. Each of these classes has around a dozen zero cooldown options in tabletop D&D. Asking for our choice of any 2 between 6 of them is not asking for the world.

Played it earlier but got mad saying it must be the beta bugging out..

On the second quest I got stuck (yes, the second one) - where you pick up the arrows from the fallen soldiers - don't know if it's a beta iissue or if I'm an idiot (probably an idiot) but their are no arrows to pick up, nor can you search the dead bodies...

Unless I'm just failing miserably here?
