Even then, people have said they'll still buy Simcity 2013 if they made it offline. People these days just won't say "No!" and stand up for what they believe in, no backbone what-so-ever. Bought so cheaply...

Now granted I'm talking about a growing number of people and obviously I'm not talking about those that sincerely don't see why EA are so hated.

I'm getting more and more confused as to how people expect to instigate change in an industry when they dangle a carrot and everyone goes for it.

It hardly warrants full forgiveness. We're well aware of why they are giving away the free game in the first place. I see it as a nice gesture but it certainly doesn't change the state of Simcity. Better than nothing.

EA is still in the red though for many, many other things.

You can subtract $20 from adding them all up since the Tau Volantis pack combines 4 of the $4.99 packs. If you were to buy only that plus the two LE packs plus the vendor specific preorder packs plus the story DLC it's still $39 which is totally crazy. And that doesn't include buying some Slim Jims to get the promotional weapons. rolleyes.gif

The good thing is the suits are cosmetic only, there are no stats attached as there were in DS2. And the weapons can all be replicated through the in game crafting. They won't be quite as good stat-wise, but darn near close enough. So none of that stuff is really necessary. And from what I've heard the story DLC is nothing spectacular.

And lol, yeah that clip pretty much sums it up. thumb.gif

Oh, I completely agree. I still don't completely understand peoples pinpoint turn around on all their ideals because of a .. what $40 - $50 dollar carrot? ( Sorry I don't normally deal in USD currency )

It's a shame because EA will buy yet another new Software house with a smash hit new IP and run it into the ground, all the while people will be drooling over the next Battlefield series or whatever is the most popular flavour of genre.

So if I buy Simcity 5 and register before the 25th I can get a free game?

This is actually pretty lame when you realize all the games mentioned have hit their profit profiles and now anything made at all on the games in the way of DLC are pure profit. Plus these games cost NOTHING for them to give since it is a digital game and they lose no money by giving these away.

Want to impress me? Give me a $30 Origin card that I can use as I please, this offer however is pure EA lame..

Name a game on Origin as a PC download that hasn't hit its profit profile that is owned entirely by EA giving them the right to give it away. Crysis 3/Tomb Raider are games that EA doesn't have full rights to and can't give away. About the only thing that they should have listed but didn't was a BF3 season pass. Giving away over a million $30 gift cards that could be used on Non-EA games where they'd have to pay the difference to the developer/producer anyways just isn't viable for a publicly traded company.

It's quite bizarre to be mad about getting free stuff because it was able to be given away by someone who has unlimited copies.

People will complain about not getting free stuff, and then complain that the free stuff isn't good enough. People will complain.

So if I purchase a physical copy of the limited edition from gamestop so I get the extra add ons and I install it will I ever need to use the disc drive again?

Basically if I install via disc but activate through origin do I need the dvd in the drive to play the game.
