Prime95 - Page 11

Yes, it's a more stable version... (though I haven't used it much these days).

I use OCCT 4.1 right now, and find it a much better package for stability testing. Also, you can put your system details in your profile, just click the "create a new rig" button (scroll down the page a bit) and add your info, then it will show up when you make a reply or new post

I've created "a new rig". Hope it will show up with this post.

EDIT: The rig I created won't show up. What do I do?

EDIT2: I can see "My Rig" if I view My Profile. So I guess it's good.

EDIT3: OK. I've got it the way I want it.

Yes. But Prime95 is always evolving, upto the present date. I hope I'm not resurrecting an old thread.

I second that, prime 95 is great. Didn't say you necroed the thread either, just pointing out that thread was originally posted six years ago thumb.gif

I have now retired Prime95 V25.11 and am solely using V26.6 64 Bit.

I have an overclock in place which I believe is stable. But when I first start P95 and select Torture Test (Blend) all the workers will start and then immediately stop, citing "FATAL ERROR: hardware failure". I then restart the Torture Test (Blend) again and it can run for a few hours without errors. This happens each and every time I first start P95.

Does this mean my OC is not stable?

Thank you.

I wanted to edit my above post but couldn't see the Edit button.

I think I might have solved my P95 problem. As I was trying to get my ram to run at 1600 I had to increase voltages in a number of places. This might have caused P95 to error out when starting.

I've now set back ram speed to 1333 and decreased voltages to the CPU, CPU-NB, RAM and NB. I can now start P95 without errors.

Prime95 v27.3 Build 1

ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v273.zip
ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p64v273.zip

This version supports 64-bit optimized AVX FFTs. 32-bit AVX FFTs are also a little bit faster. I haven't done full benchmarks so I'm not sure how much faster it is than versions 27.2 or 26.6.

The good/bad news is these FFTs are so fast that they are limited by memory bandwidth -- standard Sandy Bridge CPUs will experience a slow down when running all 4 cores. I'd like to hear from Sandy Bridge-E users to see if they also suffer slow downs when all 4 cores are running.

Prime95 v27.4 Build 1

ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p95v274.zip
ftp://mersenne.org/gimps/p64v274.zip

This version fixes a number of bugs in 27.3 - mostly related to LLR and PFGW issues. There are no speed improvements over 27.3. Hopefully, Bulldozer processors now properly run SSE2 FFTs.
