It's funny because it's true. There isn't that much room for this card to squeeze into.

Going by the chart above redface.gif

So you buy one and it will not play today's games - 1080 x 60fps, why bother? Not even 1 titan can do 60fps at the given res above mad.gif

I hope Amd have a trick up their sleeve rolleyes.gif

I feel the visuals have caught up with our cards or is it lazy optimization ?

I don't want to be forced into a nuclear rig setup to house quad /sli to play a game at its best visuals, soon, I can see myself giving up games and just buy a chip with the gpu set in it.

The normal daily needs of a computer does not require a dedicated gpu. - I have had my gpu card about 7 months and almost useless as a single set up with todays games and even worse, the ones to come.

Goodbye gaming world redface.gif Maybe I will be a little bit better off by using the hrs wasted gaming and deliver pizza instead cryingsmiley.gif

Nvidia prepares slimmed down Geforce GTX Titan by GK110..

so basically they are crippling themselves in regards to the GTX 780 with this move.
maybe not crippling but it does leave me perplexed on the plans with it.

The Plan is probably a March 2014 GTX 780 with a Maxwell Chip, although the July Release date is a bit weird, I'd think May makes more sense if they have anything new coming out late Q4 2013 early Q1 2014.

There is no way this will land for less than $700. My guess is 799. Only removing one smx unit and 1gb of vram will only drop this by $200.

The 7970 boost would only be about 15% slower most likely.

I thought the GTX 7 and the GTX 780 in-particular was to be a tweak like the GTX 5 is/was to the GTX 4 series..?

But now the Titan series? have basically take then Kepler Refresh/ GK 11X role, the next step forward for GTX 780 would be Maxwell.

This thing will retail from $849-$899USD.

You all know it won't drop below an $800USD price point.

I would hope this is from titan reception being more underwhelming than expected.
