Dual link dvi to vga

Thread Starter
Thinking about getting a Crossover 27inch monitor that requires a dual link dvi cable and capable video card. I was wondering if i could hook up my xbox to the monitor via VGA to dvi adapter. Would i run into any problems?

Don't think you can do that as the monitor doesn't have a "scaler" i think thats what its called.

so i think the only one that does is the one with the display port version.

Not having a internal scaler means it cant really set its own resolution i think. So it cant recognize the resolutions that an xbox/ps3 can give it.
Small wonder.

you may need an active adapter to convert it from analog to digital but other than that I couldnt see why there would be problems

Do you have a Xbox or a Xbox 360?
If its a 360 is it a model without HDMI?

I believe Xbox cannot run that resolution and the monitor cannot upscale the input.... if it does work, it might only be a "1080p" image to scale with black borders.

Basically, don't bother....
