Best AGP card bang for the buck? - Page 7

If you plan to run on stock, don't buy the 7800GS as the 7600Gt is indeed faster. But If you plan to do some OC or volt mod, the 7800GS will eat any 7600GT alive. Want proof? Got to Guru3d forums and see if any 7600GT can catch up with their modded 7800GS

BTW, the 7800GS will overclock well even without the mods. Coolbits will take you far.

x1650XT (NOT PRO) pawns 7600GT but it's a bit more expensive; not as expensive as a 7800GS.

The only 7800GS worth having is sold only in Europe by Gainward as it has 7800GT core and can be OCed to 7800GTX speed. It's 250€ in germany. It's called Gainward Bliss 7800GS AGP.....something.
A 7600GT doesnt outdo a BFG 7800 GS OC.

You have to think about the L2 cache, and the fact that it's....well.....64 bit
well in ever single test i have run. it keeps up. PCmark06, SiSoftware Sandra Professional, etc... and well i am sure once we get some 64bit games coming out more. sure the your's well pwn my processor. and when they do. i will just have to upgrade my Motherboard with a AGP and PCI-E Slot. i am sure u's all know that there is such a thing. Asrock have one. i even think they have one 4 the new Conroes. mind u i think i will stay with AMD. i have owned AMD computer my entire life. my first 386 was even a AMD. still in the long run. the X1650 will breath some life into my system. something which it needs write about now. i am getting sick at running new games at 640x480 lol.

I'm looking for a video card that will run most current games at decent framerates. I've heard the 6800's are more better than the 7600GS series?
Looking to spend up to around $150.
ANYONE KNOW ANY USEFUL DATA & OR GOOD DEALS , ATI or NVIDIA?
Which might OC high safely?
i couldnt imagine that being entirely true. 7 series are pretty bad ass, but i have a 6800(sig oc) and it runs most games 1024x768 80% maxed at about 45 fps. but also depends on ur cpu of course.
might wanna get bigger psu too.
