AMD is cheap and went apepoop over cores that can't be utilized yet recently.

Intel is for current, right now, out of the box performance.

Despite what people will tell you they have nearly identical price:performance ratios, and if you pay $200 for an intel CPU, you're getting $200 of performance. Same for AMD..

He hit the nail right on the head. Me personally I like Intel more but dollar per dollar you can't go wrong either way.

Yeah if you put a 7950 in it, it will run Crysis 3 good. But that's over your budget already, im just saying, I based my answer off of your $650 budget, adding in a 7950 to that barebones will make that computer a beast, but again over your proposed budget.

Ya, if you already have a 7950, then that kit would make an awesome pc.

I've come down to a decision of two and am having a hard time to chose which I should buy, either:

this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7669732&CatId=4910

or this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7636107&CatId=4910

If you were buying a kit, which one would you get? considering the price, and specs?

This one if you have a small HDD and while it does not have an liquid cooler nor 120mm fan for the case you have 70$ to spend on Hyper 212 Evo and clock 8320 to a FX 8350 level. It all depends on you and I hope you do some research on components for the kits you want in case some of them are not good.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7787122&CatId=7718

FX 8320/FX 8350 beats i7 3770k in extreme multitasking and its more future "proof", if you ever decide to upgrade you can still do that since AM3+ will be supported to 2015 if AMD's Excavator(Bulldozer 4.0) is going to be on it. Also by end of this year Steamroller(Steamroller) will be out and it will have 20 to 30% improvements over Piledriver(Bulldozer 2.0). Anyway if you go Intel now and want to upgrade to Haswell, it will not be worth it the money since you will need to buy a new motherboard.

Wait for Haswell or get an FX 8320 kit since games will use more and more cores since in PlayStation 4 is AMD's APU with 8 core's and a GPU while Xbox 720 will most likely to have an AMD's APU also. All eight generation console's have AMD's GPU while PlayStation 4 has an AMD's APU and Xbox 720 most likely while I would not be suprised if Steam Box from Valve will have an AMD's APU(Kaveri most likely)...

If you want super cheap thats about all AMD has going for it, If you want a good fast rig go with something Intel offers.

You get what you pay for... that saying also works with computer parts.

Of those 2 barebones kit, go with the MSI one. The Asus one is an entry level board and doesn't have VRM heatsinks.
