Single GPU gaming is perfect with AMD, you will see few to no difference from mid range Intel CPU.

FX 8350 + ATI 7950 = Win.

AMD's processors can use multiple GPU's, it all depends on GPU drivers for those games and it has an effect on CPU and crossfire/sli configuration...

AMD Piledriver "Vishera"(Bulldozer 2.0) FX 32nm 4 module 8 core is more future proof since games in future will use more than 4 core's and there will be more programs that will take in advantage all those core's. 1866mhz memory is recommended...

Difference between Intel and AMD's processors is small like 5 frames, you have better upgrade option since AM3+ socket is not dead and it will last to mid 2016 most likely...

Intel's Haswell will only offer 5% better CPU performance and 50% faster IGP that still won't beat A10 5700/5800k APU's Radeon HD 7660D GPU. Haswell models cost more because of its better IGP that will still be crappy in games...

Steamroller in Q4 of 2013 and it have minimum of 15% of improvements while its most likely 20 to 25% or maximum of 30% since it will be a 28nm processor and it will beat an Ivy.

If you go AMD the upgrade's will be cheaper and if you get FX 8320/8350 it will be more future proof for programs and games. If you decide to upgrade to Steamroller TDP will be the same most likely because of its considerable better performance compared to Piledriver if they max out the potential or if they stick with 15% then TDP and power consumption will be considerably lower.

Go Intel if you want to save up on power consumption and play games that are optimized for Intel processors and for old games while in future that may change since...

PlayStation 4 has an AMD's APU(CPU+GPU) and Xbox 720 may have also AMD's CPU while Valve's Steambox will surely decide AMD CPU's and GPU's(or APU's) because they want to have low costs while still have great performance, same reason why Microsoft and Sony decided to use AMD.

AMD can take up to 4 x GPU(s) and that is awsome too, but you'll get a very big performance hit using AMD CPU and AMD motherboard with multiple GPU(s)

Example below In this case, even a i7 3770k would beat the FX 8350. Unfortunately, its the way it goes.

OK... I see that... I wonder if red1776 had 1866mhz or above RAM and that is i7 3930 with same GPU's, but we don't know what is OC'ed...

More valid comparison is i7 3770k with same GPU's, number 6 i7 3770k with Quad 7950's beats FX 8350 with 7970's... Just curious if they OC'ed their components, hopefully they did not. FX 8350 handle's good don't you agree, atleast its a proof for Intel fanboys...

edit:
i7 3770k price is 100+ $ more than FX 8350 so the performance for the price is mindblowing... Where is i5 3570k with Quad 7970's?

Everything was OCed to the max in this chart.

Red1776 had his CPU oc to 5Ghz and +, same thing goes for tsm106.

But tsm106 has golden 7970s, so maybe remove 10-15 fps to his score to give better average. I havent done Heaven 4.0 yet with my setup. And king4x4 had 7950 and not 7970 wink.gif .

I'm not saying AMD is not good, just saying you'll get less performance with multi-GPUs than if you had an Intel... and it's very plausible to believe this. Anyway, you get my point,

That is why I said this

Honestly, I would never get more than 2 GPU(s) with a i5 3570k.

For Tri and Quad GPU(s), I suggest i7 3770k (i7 2600k ishh) or a i7 3930k. That's why I chose the latest.

The 8350 is a good CPU, but a lot of gaming performance comes down to the GPU. Sure with a good GPU you could maxout a game, but it will fall behind when it comes to Intel, even a 3570K. The IPC on Intel is just much higher. I've owned AMD Chips, as a matter of a fact, my daughter has a 8350 in her PC. It's a good CPU, but when it comes down to putting the HP down to the pavement, it's a ZR1. As the 3570K will be a GTR, it will put the HP to the ground effectively....

I would go 3570K over the 8350 any day. They are very close in performance, but perform differently..... You have a very good GPU, go with an Intel setup & enjoy your PC...
