Stuttering, slowness, lag, general issues

Thread Starter
I made a thread a little while ago that had 0 replies. Well, now I am making another thread because the issues are getting worse to the point that simple tasks are taking FOREVER to work correctly. Someone suggested that maybe my SSD was going bad. But the heath looks fine on all the drives. I have noticed LOTS of page faults, Network, or Disk intensive to cause the issue. The mouse doesn't scroll smoothly it hops from one place to the next, windows take forever to open or certain actions don't do anything, things are just acting really weird. The OS was installed about 6 months ago, and there isn't a lot (if any) extra crap or tools, so I am not sure what is causing it. This is the computer that is in my sig "Dataslum"

Right now, for instance, I am listening to music, it doesn't matter WHAT file it is, but it will contain some pops and stuttering that is not in the original file or on another device if I play it through a laptop or speakers from a Audio Receiver. It seems that there is some significant lag time or variation in something that is causing this issue.

I originally had the RAM at stock, thinking that was the problem, so I toned it back, to a bit under stock, that doesn't seem to have helped any (and possibly made it worse). Timings are stock (I think I double checked them, but they seem to be stock to me), which is concerning as well. The CPU isn't overclocked (if it is, it isn't by much 10 hertz maybe). I did a memtest at stock (before I lowered the frequency) for 36+ hours with all four sticks in and it came back stable.

Health of 1 SSD and 3 Hard Drives

I really need some help, as I can't have this system go. If it does, I am pretty much out of a machine.

This isn't a virus causing any of these things (I have checked with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, a long with some other programs and everything comes back clean.

As we discussed in chat earlier, pull the Seagate that's throwing the errors first to see if it clears up. It's an obvious flag, and you'll waste more time avoiding it then it would take to just disconnect it.

Also, try moving the SSD to the other controller on that motherboard, and see if there are any changes.

Hard Drive is pulled, SSD is next thing.

Going to eventually tear this rig apart from figuring out what this is.

Swapped the SSD to a new port, they are all on the same controller.

Tried swapping the NIC, this fixed it for a while, but things were still slow. But at this point, things are unbearable.

FFS this issue. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU frown.gif

Annoying as hell.
