[DSO] Halo 3 Appears In The Latest AMD Catalyst 13.3 Profiles - Page 7

For me, the peak of online FPS play was Rainbow Six 3 on the original Xbox. Nothing has been able to hold my attention like that game did. Halo 2 was a close second. I never got to play halo 3 because I stopped playing with consoles and migrated to the PC. I have always missed the halo series. I really hope Halo 3 is released on PC.

MW1 was probably the greatest MP experience I had since Q3A. It was a clutch decision to trade-in H3 for MW. Remember it like it was yesterday. thumb.gif

Goldeneye, Halo CE and 2, Q3A, UT, MW1, and the BF series are in my Hall of Fame for MP shooters.
Never got into CS because I was still console gaming at the time.

What the heck were you doing before Goldeneye and Halo?! I know what I was doing... N64 Perfect Dark, baby. That game was the next step, IMHO.

lol..

Except that Golden Eye came out way before perfect dark and was pretty much the 'standard' from then on out for FPS on consoles. Next thing to revolutionize it on consoles was Halo, then for better or worse, CoD:MW

Another great. I would honestly put it above Halo 3; but Halo 3 is close.

I disagree. PD took Goldeneye and basically expanded on it. It was the first popular title that allowed for a totally customizable multiplayer experience. Custom weapon sets, versitile bots, and well thought out levels.

As for Zero, it was fun, but didnt bring anything new to the table.

And another step in my mind, (although not as popular as the others), was Turok: Rage Wars. It had a lot of things about it that were before its day, and came out between Goldeneye and PD.

It didn't need to. Being fun and packed full of options was more than enough (along with it's gorgeous graphics for it's time). I still consider it one of the best multiplayer titles on the Xbox 360. Give me PDZ over COD any day. biggrin.gif

It's a shame Perfect Dark 2 will never see a release.

At least we're getting another Timesplitters. thumbsupsmiley.png

Oh no, by no means was it not a good game. I loved it as well. I'm just saying it wasn't a major step forward when comparing it to the other titles we were talking about.

Yes, but the key is here it 'expanded on it'. Goldeneye is what laid the founndation and is why in general you will always see it labeled as the turning point in FPS for consoles and is remembered as it. Now I did love PD too and probably have near as many hours into it as well, but Goldeneye wasn't exactly short on custom multiplayer experiences. Great maps, custom weapons, paintball mode, golden gun mode, etc. Plenty of fun options to change it up. Besides, perfect dark came out late in the game and there wasn't nearly the fanbase goldeneye had due to it and people amping up for the next gen of systems.

Bottom line, both are great games thumb.gif
