Hey all,

I built a little itx system last week. consisting of:

Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI
Bitfenix Prodigy White Case
Intel Core i5 3470
Crucial 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz Ballistix
Corsair 500W CX Builder 80 Plus Bronze PSU 3 Year Warranty

Along with this I fitted a Gainward GOOD (double fan version) GTX 470

The system was all up and running fine and I benched everything to test stability. (everything is stock)

The GPU ran furmark no problem and I had played a couple of games on it.

Randomly updating windows and on restart my GPU decides to not display a signal. Switching to onboard graphics I can see it is not recognized in device manager.

The fans spin up on the GTX 470 but it will not send a signal.

I have tried the GTX 470 in a different system and still no luck. I have tried powering just the GTX470 with the CX500w and running the rest of the system of another psu but it was still the same.

Other graphics cards work in my system and i'm certain it is a problem with the gtx 470.

Any suggestions as to what may be wrong?

Is my PSU strong enough?

It is rated at 34 amps on 12v rail and the gtx 470 is said to require 38 amps, could this be the problem? I was not sure as the card ran fine for a couple of days on benchmarks, games etc. surely if it wasn't going to work it wouldn't work from the start.

I am thinking of biting the bullet and buying a stronger PSU, but i just dont want to waste the money if the card is dead.

Thanks in advance of any help.

Chris
