Stacking Radiators?

Thread Starter
Okay, this may be a bit of a stupid question. But, I plan to have 2x overclocked 7970s in a mATX enclosure (SG09) and I'm worried about the temps.

I found out about Dwood brackets, and found the idea of attaching AIOs to videos cards quite interesting.

The case have a 120mm at the back, a 180mm at the top. and 2x 92mm + 1x 120mm fan on the side panel. However, a rad cannot be mounted on the side panel as that will block the power supply.

so my question is:

Can you stack the radiators on top of each other at the rear 120mm spot? like this.

(fan) | (Antec 920 rad) | (fan) | (Antec 620 rad) | (fan) | (Antec 620 rad) | (fan)

You can but don't expect good results. The heat output from the first rad will make the second less effective.

Would it have a decent improvement over something as crammed as this though?

You can do it and it will be perfectly fine.

I do recommend putting the warmer of the 2 cards first in the path of the cool air.

Try and use some good static pressure fans.

Interesting... Getting mixed replies here. Can anyone else confirm this?

What do you think about these? They seem decent and have a high cfm. What fans would you suggest? Preferably red or black colored.

I think you would be fine . Its kind of like having a thick radiator but with more fans on it. You can try parallel, maybe? Just opinions and suggestions.

Say your cards are perhaps, 5C apart, the radiator is going to oncrease air temps by a few degrees, so if the warmer card is cooled first, the cooler running card will be close to the same temp.

You will however, want a VERY high pressure fan inbetween the radiators.

Thanks for all the answers guys, really appreciate it.

Any suggestions for high pressured fans? ideally black or red colored.
