Particle Illusions assistance? - Page 4

I found the problem, and it's the program's fault. The program is limited to 72 dpi images. The image was 1920x1080 but was at 96dpi, particle illusion doesn't like it at 96dpi thus why you are having problems with zoom and so on. So attached is a resized 72dpi 1920x1080 (still HD res) mortal combat image i converted via photoshop in the zip archive and your project file untouched. There shouldn't be a noticeable quality change though, if you really want it to stay at 96dpi though, that's a problem with Particle Illusion.

There is no way to change the DPI of a project in Particle Illusion, so until the developers add this option, youll have to use 72dpi 1920x1080 images, or atleast convert them down to 72dpi 1920x1080.

First off, you made the boldest mistake possible It's Kombat with a K.

But anyway, thanks, that really clears up the issue if nothing else. The only thing now is- how can I convert images like this to 72 dpi without photoshop as I don't have half-a-grand to blow on it at the moment?

dang my mistake, I've played the games and even watched the live action movies and all but it came down to this spelling error lol.
But heres an awesome free program just like photoshop, I highly reccomend it, big user-base too, you should be able to change dpi of images with this. It's called GIMP.

I just put the new MK photo into Pillusions and tried to export- It's still not full res. I checked again to make sure it wasn't just this particular image and sure enough, another project was 72 DPI and still not full hd export. Something's wrong.

I'm missing whatever software I need to open saved projects for a start. On top of that I can't export in HD. I need to reinstall the program and maybe it might fix it. Gimme a few minutes.

Well, just to clarify, zoom is on 100% with that as the background image, and the project settings is 1920x1080, and you are exporting with a codec that supports the 1920x1080 frame. I just used the photo I gave you and have a perfectly saved 1080p jpg and video, just did this now.

Then how is mine still freakin' broken? I must be doing something stupid...

AVI can go full HD correct? JPEG can I know that. Those are what I normally export as.

Also, I seem to lack whatever software is needed to open saved projects...

I just tried to export a JPEG and an AVI version of a completely blank background with a random effect and it still did not allow full resolution. The problem must still lie within the program settings rather than the background image or other media.

AVI is the container but you have to choose the right codec for it to export full hd. I use full uncompressed, the default used is dv which is limited to 720x480.

Okay well... my zoom level is not the project default as yours is. How would I get the zoom level to default to the project settings? That may fix it- but I still have the option to edit it unlike you- which doesn't make sense.
