Isn't this obvious considering the processor that's in the phone? It would be a story if it benched really low.

meh. I guess more powah is always a good thing, but I wish they would improve the phones actual performance. You know... doing the only thing that phones are actually truly meant for... being phones. Will it have better reception? no. Will it have better battery? no. Will it be more durable? no. Will it be waterproof? no. Will it be more stable and reliable? no.

Do I care that it has twice the powah to play bejewelled with? no.

Im pretty sure the s4 is 8core. What the hell would utilize 8 core anyway?

It may have eight cores, but they're not equal nor always used. See ARM's short explanation on big.LITTLE, Wikipedia's.

Edit: Also, not all versions of the Galaxy S4 will be using the 8 core chip (Exynos 5 Octa). The US will get a quad core.

Happy?

Very good. Love the GS4, if I wasn't locked in contract with my GS3 for another 8 month I'd be getting it on release day. Love the 2600 mAh removable battery.

its not a true octa-core. Its suppose to only utilize 4 cores at a time, and seeing as the s3 is also a quad core, they have made almost 2x the speed in one year.. people who didnt get stuck on the octa-core naming, expected this to fall in line with the snapdragon 600, but it blows that out of the water.

The way its supp

at up to 50 mbps capable lte chips, the problem is usually with your carrier and or frequency penetration. Better battery? yes. will it be more durable and water proof? Most people want thin phones. you can buy ones designed for abuse. Heck you can even waterproof ANY phone for $60 or less. More stable and reliable? Yes, compared to older smart phones.

If you dont want what they're selling just go buy a dumbphone or an old blackberry to play your bejeweled on.

its not suppose to use all 8 cores at once, Big little is one cpu for low power energy efficient stuff (texting, web browser, movies, etc) the other is for high performance (games, high res pictures/editing, etc)

As far as I'm away by what I've read, only 4 cores are on at a time. The 4 low power cores are on at idle, but when it needs more power it shuts those down and kicks up the better performing cores. So it'll only every function as a quad core.
