Are you using 7/16"ID tubing on 1/2" barbs? ( it looks clean and I like it. )

I have been thinking of swapping out all my 7/16"ID comps for 1/2" stubs.

Of course I will be using approprately colored zip ties for security though. 8|

you could try 3/8ID and 5/8OD tubing and heat it in some hot water so you can slip it on should never come off

even 7/16ID tubing is insanely hard to get off.

I spit lubed it, wiggled it on.

I broke the plastic barb I got from lowes to test with trying to pull the tube off.

...and 'spit lube' can get some little places over some big things. I was surprised at the tubing's grip.

Sigh, another case of someone not using clamps or other secure methods.

Not surprised at all. I see too many stories like this, and people bite my head off when i say to disregard people who say to run without clamps. Some people go as far as to justify clampless by saying it "cuts into the piping" or other such nonesense. It's a completely unnecessary risk with expensive consequences. For the cost of a clamp or compressions, there's absolutely no justification for it.

Hope it'll work out alright for you.

If you're going to invest in water cooling, do it right, or don't bother.

If your looking for clamps I got mine for the hardware store look under taps and fittings. Pope nylon clamps cheaper and stronger than any watercooling ones primochill had, bought a pack of 25 for 7 dollars to 10 for 10 dollars on PCCG. You should always use clamps for barbs no matter what, better safe then sorry you always learn to late, well hope your card works still best of luck.

Here's hoping it works. What a bummer... But I'm sure you'll never sport that thing without clamps again.
