It's not the gaming system that's rare, but the games themselves are harder to come by. Just look up some of the games like Mario Kart, Super Mario 64, Legend of Zelda, etc. on eBay and you'll see what I mean.

Exactly. Can't recall if all of them were gold but the ocarina of time I have is the gold cartridge and the majoras mask I own is the gold one with that material on it - can't recall the name of it - but it moves the image from different angles. IIRC, these are worth more as well

Haha yea me being one of them (well I'll be 30 in June cheers.gif). However like I've alluded to, the market on eBay puts the price range much higher so that's where I'll be heading. Just wanted to see if there were any 30 year old sentimentals around these here parts biggrin.gif.

Yea the gold cartridges are worth slightly more indeed because they are collections items.

I'm not trying to be a douche or anything, but people will inflate the prices of their games just because it's older. I think $60-100 is a fair price.

I have all those games you have listed, with boxes and manuals too. So did all of my cousins and friends. They aren't rare just stuck in people's closets, attics, basement, storage, etc. Unless you have collector's or limited editions.

I didn't mean rare as in not many exist, I meant rare as in there aren't a ton up for sale. I have no need to argue about this any more though, I just spent a good amount of time researching prices for all this stuff on eBay less than 2 months ago so I'm well aware of what they prices are on eBay. I guess I just made the mistake of thinking the eBay demand was as it is on here. Cleary I was mistaken thumb.gif.

gold OOT is a per-order perk from Nintendo and the MM you have is a special edition release from my knowledge. also op that pack you have i would say to a collector or anyone that likes the system you could easily get $200

I know I have a gold cartridge copy of Zelda and pretty sure it's still in the box with manual too, I might have to wipe the dust off and see what it can get me on ebay.

What people ask on eBay and what people pay are two different things.

I'm not going off what people ask for, I studied the final prices of auctions for days and days trying to find the best price for each individual game when I bought it all. I will get at least $150 for this bundle on eBay. Controllers alone sell for $15-$20 a piece. I'll post my final listing once it's over for all to see thumb.gif.

It won't be a profit. I'm sure I spent more than that in total piecing everything together. Profit is not what I'm after though, just looking to fund an upgrade.
