It is possible that dirt may have ran out of cpu tasks for the moment, don't quote me on that though as I don't know for sure.
If you have gpu projects running the client sets your gpu to those tasks and if you have cpu projects running then it will assign cpu resources to them. I am running dirt, primaboinca, and Rioja all at the same time right now. It takes a little time when you start two cpu or two gpu projects but after a while they will sync up and run along side one another. I have 6 threads of my 3770k running three each of the cpu projects and that is all handled by the boinc manager. I hope this helps answer your question and isn't just caffeinated rambling on my part.
