I saw this same deal listed on these forums 3 weeks ago from the egg. What do you all think of the bang/buck of this card at this price? Let's assume you get $45 after all the hoopla that is ebay/paypal for the 2 game codes. After that and the MIR that brings the price down to $125. Comparatively, the Galaxy GeForce GTX 660 GC 2GB was just on sale (already OOS) for $163.50 after MIR. The game code included in the nvidia deal however I see selling for less, maybe $25 after fees.

So with this MSI 7850 deal your getting it for ~$15 cheaper then the 660 and it is MSI vs Galaxy if that means anything to you. If you were planning on buying Bioshock and Tomb Raider it becomes even sweeter. Opinions seem to go back and forth on 660 vs 7850 but with a great MSI cooler overclocking it will be hassle free.

I game on 1920x1080 single monitor so I really only want a 1 card setup but my gtx 460 is showing it's age. I wanted to splurge for a 7950, 7870 Myst or 660ti but the Powercooler 7870's on sale lately are HUGE, LOUD and HOT. The 7950 and the 660ti are $100+ more. Could this be the best bang for the buck in the $125-$160 price range? (after codes and MIR).

Sapphire HD 7870 XT is available for a higher price. but it has a better cooler. USD 233 after mail in rebate

HD 7870 Tahiti LE is 30 - 35% faster than the HD 7850 at stock speeds. even at same clocks you are looking at 20 - 25% faster card.

I don't get why anyone bothers even mentioning stock speeds. Virtually anyone reading these forums and buying a 7850 are going to overclock it.

I bought that 660 deal from the other day. Since then I've been wondering if an overclocked 7850 2GB would beat out a 660. So far I know the 660 is faster than a 7850 but not quite as fast as a 7870 (all at stock speeds mind you), so it goes like this: 7850 < 660 < 7870. Again, those are stock speeds. So, if you overclocked all those cards, would an overclocked 7850 perform as well as a 7870 or a 660?

Screw it, ordered this card. Been eyeing a 7850 anyway
