Mounting Fans in M8?

My friend just put together his M8 and said that he was not able to mount fans in the top and bottom. I have not personally seen the problem, but he said that he thinks he needs to specific fan mounts for the case, yet I have never seen or heard of this on the forums.

Anyone have an idea of what the issue might be? He says the screws that came with the fans are too wide for the holes?

Before you ask, yes they are 120mm fans.

Here is a quote from talking to him:

"the regular fan mount screws that come with typical fans are too wide for the case top/bottom.
fan screws are usually self-threading screws when they go into the fan. But they're slightly too big for the case holes to the point where they widen the case hole if you screw it in. and I don't want to mess up the case for a fan that I won't be keeping forever."

Does he just have some wonky fans or is there screws that come with the case that he is supposed to be using? etc.

Thanks,
Bryan

Nevermind, I found that you need to use 6-32 screws
