Moeya Series Review by Feyris

Insight:

The Moeya series is Chiclet Keycapped custom printed keyboard faces that vary from "God of War" to "Kawaii Desu Animu". They come modeled after Apple keyboards, are minimalistic, and plug & play as the norm. Currently they are only available from Amazon at a whopping $50 once shipped, with no reviews out except a youtube unboxing and un-detailed amazon reviews on only three of the boards many may not be willing to chance the murky waters at that price.

When it comes to custom printed keyboards the only ones besides Moeya are either insanely expensive Japanese imports or cheap knock-off Chinese keyboards that are not suitable for typing in the slightest and only look good. Unfortunately, they sent me the wrong keyboard design. But they already put the proper one in for re-order (No charge to me)& are letting me keep this one for only $10 since It would be more to send back, good service....yeah I would say I am pleased with the results now that I have another plus this one for not even 20. If you want this particular board, please ask.

The Keyboard:

The keyboard comes with a protector, which is completely indented to fit the front face like a glove so the keyboard is completely useable and visible with the sleeve.

Peeling the cover back you can see the full color quality and body of the board itself.

Once the sleeve is removed you can see the Moeya board in all its glory

Layout on the numpad side: You have sleep, your normal keyset, and volume keys. Nothing fancy.

Layout on the left side: Generic US layout viewable, no macro buttons or anything fancy either.

Center Layout: Play/Pause button and the usual spacing, again...nothing fancy here.

From the Side: You can see the apple-like design, the keyboard is angled slightly forward to help with typing.

Thoughts:
When I received this I was surprised at the size. It is not very large although it retains full-size keys and the standard keyboard layout, it is minimalistic in design and the angle is great for typing. The keys require little force and do not press with that "cheap keyboard" feel you get out of a lot of low-end keyboards, at that price it shouldn't have to begin with anyways, I also found typing with the dust cover was another was to get more feedback from typing, you can also still see the design so it doesn't look horrid. In the images it looks like the caps lock and other lights are painted over, but in reality you can see it light up perfectly. The USB cable is 5 feet & also feels very sturdy, I would have to say any better and it would need to be a corded cable. Since I game a lot I decided to try out how it worked against gaming keyboards, thankfully it performed beautifully without any issue when it came to input lag and simultaneous key presses registering, good to know the controller isn't garbage. Since I own a Naga I could care less about macros on the keyboard itself.

Okay so, the bad things? I for one sometimes need to see lettering for reference, depending on the design you choose the lettering will not stand out completely, this is not a killer blow though considering many high end boards have no letter printing and they come highly regarded, (Im looking at you das keyboards) this is my only quirk with this thing.

In all, this is a great print, though it does not have any fancy features you might come to expect with entry gaming or mechanical in this price range, it is completely fit to be an everyday usage keyboard for general use or gaming if you have a mouse capable of macros.
