g700 vs g9x?

I'm not sure which I should get.

My background for gaming on my desktop the last few years I've used the Steel Series WoW Mouse (the first one). I love that it has so many buttons, and love how huge it is. I hate it's crappy paint quality and how the paint wears off after a 1/2 a year (I'm on my second). I'd say I have a combination of claw/grip style. When I play on my laptop I've got a mx518 that I leave plugged in to it, and another mx518 I use at work.

I don't like the numpad style buttons on the side so that knocks out most naga mice. And I don't want anything made by madcatz near my computer, so that knocks out the cyborg mice.

I'm leaning towards the g700 as it has more buttons and the g9x just looks a bit small. But I haven't seen either in person and would like feedback on that. Also, the biggest selling point would be if either are integrated into the same profiler software that my g13/g15 use. Thanks.

I love my G9X and I have fairly large hands. It's great because with both grips you can essentially make it into a g700 or have the nice matte/smooth rubber surface.

G9x is shorter (vertically from the desk) and your hand sits flatter on it than it does on the MX518. G700 is taller and tilted at more of an angle to the right. G700 ergonomics are closer to MX518 than G9x, even with the large grip attached, though G9x could feel larger because it would be slightly wider.

Does the G9x have macro buttons? I thought it did, but looking again it doesn't appear to.

Does the g700 use the same profiler software as the g13/15?

G9x has 9 programmable buttons while G700 has 13. G9x and G700 both use the same LGS software as G13 and G15.

That's good. I saw a review of the g700 and it didn't use the profiler software, but that was a couple of years ago and I know it's been updated since then.

After having used the g700 and switching to a g400, the g700 is a great mouse in every way except for the sensor. It's not as accurate as the g400 and I lose less close encounters at close quarters in FPS games with the g400. I don't feel like I'm fighting the g400 like I felt with the g700. Although I think that's a problem all most laser mice if Fatal1ty said on them is true. For MMO's you should be fine though

I went ahead and got the g700. I chose it instead of the g9x because the g700 had extra buttons that were specifically meant to reprogram. While the g9x had buttons that I would already expect to have a default use that I wouldn't want to remap--the g700 had those and more.

I just saw that Best Buy had the G700 for $49.99 ... therefore I'm gonna give it a try.

Getting tired of fighting with my Cyborg MMO 7.... hopefully Logitech has better switches. My only thing is.. now I'm gonna have to re-train my hands to a new mouse.... since the G700 doesn't have as many programmable buttons as the MMO 7 has.

I've got a friend who just bought the g700, too, from the rat7. He likes the g700 way better.

Also, dang, I just paid 80 bucks at fry's last week. Guess I need to go get the difference refunded.
