LLC should still be on max not off

I was stable at 1.365 volts in bios with LLC in turbo but it would be 1.356 idle and RISE to 1.365

edit - i re-read as much as i could and i tried things mentioned by you guys,

while under HIGH LLC i had a drop to 1.380 with (1.4+v in bios)
while under TURBO LLC i had a rise to 1.380 (1.365 in bios)
i just set the vcore to 1.380 and set LLC turbo (1.380 in bios)
seems like now my vcore will not move at all, is this basically my stable point in terms of rock solid vcore?

im going to try 1.375 just to see if it makes a difference

Oh it still raises maxed out, then thats fine. That rise isnt that high
What ever way gets you lower volts while still being stable is the best way to go.

well i lied to myself! after running ibt a few times with LLC turbo
1.38v in bios jumped to 1.392 under load
so i set 1.39 in bios and it jumps to 1.404


Dzilla, the problem im having is various people told me any SPIKE in vcore is bad, and any droop is GOOD so im having a hard time because i have another thread with 4pages when i started to OC this cpu and now i have you and another telling me to just keep low voltage + a rise tongue.gifsmile.gif

few people mentioned things along the line of the rise forces the vrm to have to correct itself which doesnt help at all when the technology of the chip and the droop is supposed to take care of this so a rise in vcore is the opposite or something about the vrm overheating due to having to correct itself from the overvoltage

The thing is that LLC gives the CPU more stable power. What people are talking about is spiking because the voltage rises anyway with LLC off. Having LCC all the way off is not the best way to OC, at least with current gen of CPUs.

Ok, i understand, but should I not aim for a vcore with a LLC that causes a minimal droop instead of a lower vcore with a LLC that causes any form of rise?

You've been kind enough to respond back to back and are helping me out quite some bit, I just get frustrated with trial and error then few days after T&E i get new/different information which disregards all my previous information frown.gif

Test both methods, if you get lower voltage and temps with one of the methods then use that one.

Also not sure if your board has offsets but the use of that also helps not turn the voltage up to high.

can you confirm if a rise in vcore is detrimental to the chip though?
people seemed to get mad i was unaware that any rise to a chip is bad for the chip/vrm
