Powercolor X1950 Pro:256 Mb or 512Mb?

Thread Starter
I am going to order one of these in a week or so, as soon as my RMA goes through. Will I benefit any from the extra memory, or is this just a waste of $40? The memory is clocked the same @ 14000 MHz, as well as the core, @600 MHz.
Thanks!

all pro using DDR3.
if you just geting one card and no CF later, Get the 512mb one.
If you might go CF later, 256mb is good for now.
What Res Your 27inc TV use? If 1920 x 1200 or higher. better to get the 512mb one.

I'm not really sure, it is just regular old CRT television with S-video inputs, but I usually run my desktop at 800x600, and games at 1024x768, as most games rust best at this resolution. I won't have an LCD TV for some time (damn they're expensive!) I won't get one until I can afford at least a 35-40 incher, which are about $1000 for the cheapest, which probably suck for gaming.
Actually, I'm looking more into the HIS now, as I have heard that it is the best X1950 Pro, factoring in the ICEQ cooler and the 625 MHz core clock.

Well, I think that I've decided to go with the HIS version.....620 MHz stock core, 1480 memory....oh yea silky silky nah......haha jk!
I would LOVE to get an LCD tv, but I can't afford it.....guess I'm sticking with the 'ol 27" CRT television
BTW my girlfriend's mom just bought a 50" LCD Hitachi!!!! I'm going to take my tower over there and try a couple of games out, if she'll let me, that is!

Yea, that's kinda what I thought.....The images do look better in 1024x768, but I think this is just my mind playing tricks on me, a la seeing what I want to see. Actually, I have heard that it is even lower than that, like XVGA or something like that.....I dunno

Anyhow, I ordered the HIS X1950 Pro 256 Mb today!
