they have the same specs (CAS 5 @ DDR2 800) as these Buffalo Firestix...

any idea now which chips is Super Talent using in these modules??

Nope, Super talent is using MICRON D9s in their 6400 series RAM. My guess for the Cas 5 stuff is either GCT or DQT... I'm not positive however.

Probably Micron D9s but since that not all D9s are the same, probably D9s that are low quality, close to PROMOS in terms of overclocking or maybe just a hair better.

After all, D9s come in several flavors and Corsair having the best because they "hand pick" theirs but Team Group gets the better binned for their DDR2 800 CAS 3, therefore CAS 4 is good and CAS 5 isn't that much better but still is D9 and with some luck.......they could overclock pretty good.

Just like the same way a CPU is picked from a batch. And also GPUs.

Though it seems at PROMOS are already pushed to 800mhz from their stock 667mhz, that's the way I see it at Corsair's IC thread.

BTW, CAS 3 DDR2 800 is very expenesive, even more than DDR2 1000 CAS 5.

Oh D9..Well thats even better. Doesnt look like bad RAM.
