btw from the list which I linked at my first post, which would be a reference card? Just incase in the future I decide to meddle with it, this is afterall the overclock forum lol tongue.gif

Yes im one of the unlucky ones of having a defect XFX card but in all honousty u can find horror threads on all brands. it varies per model/chip/batch. Ive had 2 so far, first was the best card i ever owned and second right now is garbage but ive had worse cards by Asus,Sapphire and Club3D wich doesn't make them bad brands but with hardware there is always that possibility of having a defect, that's what guarantees are for. XFX support might not be great but i could paste a Sapphire chatlog here that would blow your mind but i won't because you can't judge a whole on a few complaints here and there.

I would go for a Gigabyte 7970 with the windforce cooler or a MSI 7970 Twin Frozr. Either way they will run cool and are already OC'd. I would go with the Gigabyte 7970 Windforce since you don't care about overclocking. It comes with one of the highest OCs for a 7970 from the factory and you can't overvolt it.

Thanks, now it does make sense that not every card is the same! Could you please paste the log, just out of curiosity
