AMD Phenom II x4 955, upgrade to AMD FX-8350 Vishera? Worth it?

Hello all! Been a long time since posting, hope you all are well.

I am still running my Phenom II x4 955 BE with my TFIII 570 PE OC to 940mhz. In most things, it appears my CPU is bottlenecking me.

I finally decided to look into a CPU upgrade. My mobo is AM3+. Apparently the Vishera's are the ones to look at. For $180 I can get the 4.0ghz FX-8350.

My question is this: What types of FPS increases can I expect in my games (current and near future)?

Current
1.) Regular and Heavily Modded Skyrim
2.) Battlefield 3

Future
1.) Dragon age III
2.) Rome: Total War II

I listed the "future games" because those are the types of games I will be playing, not because I want you to be a fortune teller and guess at performance of those particular titles.

Basically, I'm curious if any of you made the same or similar upgrades and how it affected your performance. Is it worth it?

Have you overclocked your CPU/NB to ~2600 Mhz? If you have then you should easily be pushing a 570. My 965 is pushing a 7870 Ghz without bottlenecking.

Is it a C2, what's its speed?

His sig says it's 3.6 Ghz right now. I don't know if he overclocked the CPU/NB though. That's a really important frequency with Phenom II's.

Thank you, I concur!

Post a CPU-Z validation link,pls.
955 overclocked should run those games fine.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I still only have it at 3.6 GHz. Haven't touched the NB as I have never really given a legitimate OC to a CPU. I just upped the multiplier instead.

I suppose I can try to find an old thread on overclocking my CPU, but given its age, are there pretty universal settings for NB etc?

More to the original question, Let's assume I don't over clock the 955 and also won't overclock the 8350 (or OC both). Is the performance jump between the two CPUs significant for gaming?

I went from a 955 at 3.6 to a 8350, it was fairly disappointing for the most part. Sold it and moved to a 3570K, much better. And before someone gets mad at me for not clocking the Phenom, it was a C2 and needed water to go past 3.7 basically.

What games were played on your 8350?
