Looking to buy a 10ft power cord for my TX850

Thread Starter
Just got a new desk and looking to clean up my cables a bit. I am in need of a 10ft power cord for my old TX850. This is my power supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139009

The power cord I have currently says 13A 125V on it and is 16AWG thickness. I am going to attach a picture below. Would the following cord work without damaging my PC?
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10228&cs_id=1022801&p_id=5286&seq=1&format=3#specification

Are there any Corsair alternatives?

13A at 120V is over 1500 watts. That cord will be fine.

I not an electrician, and I know that a 16 gauge should be okay,
but If would go with a 14gauge and price is that much different...

14AWG are our most robust cables; extra thick and heavy duty to handle connections to the beefiest power supplies. These cables are designed to carry up to a 15 amp, 125 volt load

16AWG is a great medium weight cable; thick but not too unyielding. These cables are designed to carry up to a 13 amp, 125 volt load. They are safe, strong and reliable.

I will just get the 14AWG cable. Thanks guys smile.gif

You don't need the 14AWG. Even 16 is more than you need, but its a comfortable gauge.

Awesome, congrats on saving like 0.75W (assuming a high pull of 5A, which would require hardcore SLI / Crossfire benching) over the 16AWG cord. rolleyes.gif

Though if you sustain that load for 24/7 for two years you'd recoup the $1.18 price difference!
