Does your case have a cut out on the mother board tray? If so, just hook up an led strip around it and mount it all behind the side panel.

Or for best effect behind Mobo, use 335 type side emitting led strips - far better effect and very small profile at just 5mm wide and 2mm high. Available in Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, Cool White & Warm White

Just an update. I gave this a shot in my corsair 900D. I purchased the Bitfenix 15 LED strip. It fits just about perfect down the back of the motherboard. The glow is very faint on full brightness, which means I can avoid connecting my fan controller. It's just enough glow to satisfy but wouldn't hurt to be a tad brighter. I will try to take some pictures soon.
