Mcp-655 high pitched whine!!

Hi everybody,
I bought a swiftech mcp-655 (not the adjustable speed one) about a year ago but only used it for the last six months. I was using it with a xspc dual drive res and it was giving a lot of vibrations so i opted to mount the pump with is stock mounting hardware and use a separate reservoir above the pump.
The pump now makes a very annoying high pitched whining noise. I did not ran it dry or anything and i only used distilled water so no gunk issues there. Along with the pad provided i also used a couple of centimeters of foam between the case and the mount to minimise vibrations to the case which it did. But even as im writing this, the whine is really annoying!!
Anyone with any pointers? should i RMA it?

Was there a high pitch whine when it was installed in the XSPC dual drive res?
Or did it only happen after you install the stock top with the separate reservoir?

If it is the latter, i suggest you try using the XSPC dual drive res to see if the high pitch whine still occurs.
It might be the stock top causing it. Usually a high pitch whine occurs in a pump when the impeller is failing.

i'll try and drain the loop and try that and see. i ll also remove the paddding and bolt it on the case only adding a smaller pad. seriously this is really annoying:P

I had to turn my volume almost all the way up to make sure I was actually hearing something....but to me, that sounds like a standard D5.
