Dying Noctua Fans

I'm planning on buying the Noctua NH D-14 for my build right now, however I hate the colors that the fans come in. I've been looking up various ways to paint the fans and the guide I'd most like to follow (http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=35185) involves using Rit dye. I was just wondering if this would be the smartest way to go about changing the colors of my fans (I've seen other guides that use other techniques too, such as spray painting (http://www.overclock.net/t/1192785/simple-guide-how-to-paint-most-case-fans) but this one is not specific for Noctua fans either).

Also, I was wondering if painting the fans of a cooler was a smart idea, as they are slightly different than regular case fans in their placement and function (although I fail to see a problem with it). Additionally, I'm also assuming that the Noctua fans that come with the D14 would come apart similarly to the ones in the guide, that is, with very little trouble.

If anybody has information or suggestions that'd be great. Thanks.

Hey, I will make sure to do that. I have some stock fans that came with my case that will be perfect.
