A little over at $313

If the 300 or under is a hard limit then use this CPU

AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo)

With the mobo that would be $278

Either is IMO a better choice than multi locked PhII 1045T

If I go with FX then I definitely want the 8350.

Rakuten (formerly Buy.com) had $25 off code yesterday (one day only)
AMD FX-8350 $184.97 + $4.16 shipping - $25 = $165.13
AMD FX-8320 $164.97 + $4.16 shipping - $25 = $145.13

also newegg had AMD FX-8350 with ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 combo for $300
after $10 rebate and $20 newegg gift card.

if you have a micro center local to you that would be a good option.

So I just read some reviews and did some research and I think I'm gonna go with the 8350. The bang for the buck is just unbelievable. I'd really like to stay under $300 though, as I'm saving up for a car. So, what motherboard do you think I should get now?

Get an 8320 then. Better to save a few bucks on the chip than skimping on the board.

I'd go Asrock Extreme 9. Only AMD mobo besides Fatality to offer 12+2 digital power phase and 1 of 2 that has a Intel LAN. Also offers 4 onboard usb3 connects. Just an extremely feature rich board. The price is great @ $159.99 on Newegg and it isn't bad looking either. I'm looking to pick one up since my Saber died in less than a year. rolleyes.gif
