[NV] $25,000 Nvidia VCA Announced! - Page 4

Didn't Nvidia say GRID would be for cloud gaming?
http://www.nvidia.com/object/cloud-gaming.html
By the looks of it the VCA can use Quadro or GeForce GPU's so we can expect the GRID to have cloud gaming uses as well as soon as the streaming software gets finished.

It's the application of the product that matters, not strictly performance - how hard is it for you to believe I regularly sell batches of 4U rackmount machines using E6600's (yes, a Core 2 Duo) for over $1700?

Well - that's why some of us here come to read , learn and write our view. - Sorry if we are not all gifted to have all the knowledge of every compute dept biggrin.gif

You know I was a Window fitter and some of you may be a bricklayer and so on. And at first being Nvidia, thinking gpu, does somehow imprint gaming in ones mind thumb.gif

We also switched the entire campus of almost 4k students and staff from a 10baseT network to Cat5 and setting up a couple bonded T1s and a T3 for voice and data.

Seems like we are going back to a similar environment albeit with drastically improved performance and features.

Hm, we should get some of them and run some 3D Marks on it. We might have to alter the "OS" but hey this sounds like fun. thumb.gif

Nvidia made some custom rigs for James Cameron for the Avatar movie several years ago to work with their custom Rendering Software. I could only imagine what they could do with several of these for their crazy renderings and or future Movie SFX.
