This is the 2nd USB 3.0 drive I've had problems with in the last month. Originally, I picked up a Toshiba 500GB USB 3.0 external at a local Wal-Mart. I had nothing but trouble with it. I was able to copy a few games from my Steam library over to use as back up, and I would constantly be interrupted as it would be disconnecting/re-connecting. A few days later I returned it and ordered a Touro 1Tb USB 3.0 external off Newegg hoping my 500GB I returned was defective. I just received it today and it's giving me the same amount of problems as the last drive. I can't copy something over without having it disconnect and re-connect. When it does work, it's very fast, but I need more storage on the go and I need a drive that won't fail me. My USB 2.0 Seagate Freeagent Go is only a 250GB and is filled and I've never had problems with that whatsoever.

At first I believed this was the cord causing the problems but I think it's more than that. I already adjusted my power options for the USB ports to stay on all the time and not put anything to sleep. I just updated my Intel eXtensible Host USB 3.0 drivers as well and that also fails to help.

What's the problem?
