Right here^

Read it, ya might learn something. thumb.gif

So you are debating over 2 FPS?

And why did you buy a GTX 680 if the GTX 580 is equal to the 680 performance ?

And this is from the review you posted. (Remember that BL2 is a physx game)
Quote:
In fact, based on our testing, Radeon cards seem to handle PhysX slightly better than their GeForce counterparts. When running Borderlands 2 at 1920x1200, the HD 7970 only took a 15% performance hit after enabling PhysX (dropping from 72fps to 61fps), whereas the GTX 680 fell 19% from 74fps to 60fps.

PROOF! (Click to show)

Maybe you can read and learn something biggrin.gif

This guys has to be a troll. Alienware69, beats audio with title audiophile. And using one graph to conclude his argument.

that's just one game though. We already seen how it goes in Crysis 3 which is the most demanding in history. Just saying the 7970 isn't some god chip the fanmen around here make it out to be.

Anyway Im done with this thread.

Guys lets not start a war please.

The 7970 is a better card, the 670 just beats the 7950. If your compairing the 680 agaist the 7970 then we would need to bring out the benchmarks to clearly find out which is a true winner.

In my eyes go for the 680 if your not going to overclock your gpu, if your going for CUDA or PHYSx and you have some cash

7970 is you want performance + OpenCL + a really good price.

7970 and the 680 are both good cards so dont worry on which you purchase, just pick a company. ( at the moment AMD are giving some free games so I would go for the AMD card, save alot of money smile.gif )

So.. drivers are a big deal. Lets look at the most recent history. Beta 13.3 beta 2 immediately broke opengl. Beta 13.3 3 was released to fix it. This is annoying and frustrating, but probably one of the fastest fixes I have seen AMD make. Point being that over the last 3 years of owning a 5850 this crap happened all the time. Also.. with both sets of drivers now, the 670 beats the 7950 boost in tomb raider at all resolutions. The 7970 is still faster, but I haven't see one for $360, but a 670 can be had for $340.

With games anymore 1 week 1 card is better next week the other is better amd has been on the top of most games recently so its really a toss up if he needs cuda or likes physx he should go nv if he does not need that amd is best choice for the price.
