Normally decent advice. Not necessarily good for an engine like Arma 2 though (the OP mentioned he plays DayZ a lot).

6300 is vishera/piledriver, which is quite a bit better over bulldozer. in games that take advantage of the more threads you'd see more performance from the six cores.

If you wouldnt mind me asking... Whats wrong with Bulldozer? My core works perfectly over the I3 i had once, it out performs the core. (I dont have the I3 anymore cause its now in my main home computer)

the case you have picked here is the case i have right now. it is a good case and it comes with lots of fans but they are cheep fans and the case feels cheep as well. the case keeps cool well and does not get much dust intake. the fans conect to the psu and not the 3 pins on the motherboard so that minght be a problem with your psu. the case is a ok size but not very tall a atx board will fit in snug you will not be able to fix a water cooler or a big fan cooler. the case is cheep and you can allways upgrade later on. also the hard drive drives can be removed for a bigger gpu. the 6100 is not as good as the 6300 and there is only a 15 pound diffrance. and the gpu for a cheep and good one you should get a http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/AMD+Radeon/Radeon+HD+7770/XFX+Core+Edition+Radeon+HD+7770+1024MB+GDDR5+PCI-Express+Graphics+Card+?productId=54115 they can run dayz fine and for the ram http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingston-HyperX-Genesis-1600MHz-Memory/dp/B004IBXIJC/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1363954039&sr=8-4
hope i could help you as im doing the same as you right now i just orded a amd 6300 and the same gpu and ram as in this post.

Thsts including arma 2! I really wish people would stop being so disrespectful and unless uve had a 6100 please dont call it a fail beacuse to me uts anything but that! Its ran my crossfired 6570s, crossfired 6870s and currently my radeon 6970! Its overclocked to 4.2 ghz on auto tune stays nice and cool during gaming and has never givin me any problems! How is that a fail please explain??? But if I were u id get the new fx6300 its worth the xtra money, but then again if u buy a 6100 u will be just fine trust me! Dont listen to some of these guys, mr fred is right but that other guy I wouldnt give him a dat over 8 years old! Theres absolutky nothing wrong with a fx 6100! if u need further proof id be more then happy to run some benchmarks for u so u can see yourself! Good luck with the build

Thank you for the reply!
Is that overclocked CPU using the stock cooler?

I was thinking of getting that GFX because it comes with 3 free games which I could probably sell for £35, thus bringing the price of the GFX card to £50!
http://www.dabs.com/products/sapphire-technology-amd-radeon-7770-hd-1gb-pci-express-3-0-hdmi-8H2Y.html?src=3

That RAM you mentioned is £47.70 for 8GB, would it be better than the one I posted? As they're pretty similar prices.

What settings can you run DayZ and Skyrim on?
Also have you ran planetside 2?

Thank you all for the replies, I seriously appreciate your time and effort, as I don't want to spend all this money and be disappointed.

Urg. Your question is meaningless. Why? Copied from another post:
Quote:
There's a difference between different definitions of bottlenecking that makes the term almost meaningless. To answer your question, if you mean the correct (according to me) definition, then no.

Correct definition: A bottleneck is a result of one piece of hardware not permitting another to function at its full capacity in any circumstance.

Correct definition example: You have a SATA3 SSD plugged into a SATA2 port on your motherboard. The SATA2 port is bottlenecking your SSD - you can never get faster than SATA2 speeds out of it, even though the SSD could perform much better.

Solution: Plug the SSD into a SATA3 port, possibly requiring a motherboard upgrade.

HOWEVER, lots of people use a different definition of bottlenecking. According to me, the incorrect one.
Incorrect definition: A bottleneck is when one piece of hardware is not performing up to its maximum potential in a specific task because another piece of hardware can't keep up.

Incorrect definition example: You have a 5850, which is capable (or nearly so) of displaying SC2 at maximum graphics settings at your monitor's resolution & maximum refresh rate (best possible image quality at maximum effective FPS), however, because your CPU (i5-3470) cannot run SC2 at maximum FPS (your monitor's refresh rate) when large armies are on the field, you aren't getting maximum theoretical potential out of your 5850. People then (confusingly) say the i5-3470 is bottlenecking your Radeon 5850.

The difference is that the second (incorrect) definition is task-specific. Sure in SC2, there's a CPU "bottleneck," but for the vast majority of games it's the opposite: your i5-3470 is more than enough power to do everything you want other games to do, but your 5850 will hold you back.

So to answer your question:
Your system has no bottlenecks (first, correct definition).
Your question is meaningless without giving us context in terms of what software you're running (second, more common but incorrect definition).

The reason the term bottlenecking bugs me so much is that people hear they have a bottleneck (incorrect definition) and assume they have a bottleneck (correct definition) and that there are magic hardware configurations that will never have bottlenecks (incorrect definition) when that outcome is, in fact, impossible.
