My first attemp at watercooling.

Well here it is. The start of me watercooling my rig. Case is a rosewill blackhawk mid tower. Unfortunately, when i ordered all of my supplies, i ordered a swiftech 240 rad which doesn't fit in my case with fans. I was really limited on what i could do today but i ordered a new swiftech 120 rad which will fit and hopefully it will be in tomorrow.

Here's a pic of what i have now.

It all consists of:

XSPC X2O 750 Dual 5.25" Bay Reservoir Pump
XSPC RayStorm CPU/APU Water Block (AMD) w/ LED
XSPC G1/4" to 3/8" compression fitting
Swiftech MCR220-XP eXtreme Performance Radiator (paperweight for now)
Xigmatek - XLF-F1256 120mm LED Case Fan - Blue (all fans in case have been replaced with these)
PrimoChill Pure Extreme Coolant Bottle
PrimoFlex Advanced LRT 3/8in. ID x 5/8in. OD Tubing
and my recently rma'ed fx 8150(amd customer support is amazing)

So far all i've got to do is install the res and a few fittings.

I'll keep updated and post as soon as i get the rest in!

I hope you can find a place for that 240mm rad. I would start by losing the ODD and moviong the bay res and controller up, That will give you some room for the radiator chambers.

( of course youll have to cut the Drive cage. )

I just ordered the 120 rad. It will fit in place of the existing rad from the corsair h60. I also ordered a waterblock for my ram. I'm gonna do some research but im probably gonna go pump->rad-> cpu-> ram-> res.

first time watercooling also here...just waiting for last few h20 components.....if you havent been told or heard already. I tell you what many OCN members have notified me multiple times. "your loop does not matter. Again....you loop order does not matter. The only thing that matters is that your res must come before your pump" looking forward how it comes out for you...Good Luck.

Finally got everything in. It came out great!

Here are some pics of the build

installing the swiftech 120mm rad with push pull config

put in fx 8150 and removed brackets from mobo

installed xspc raystorm cpu block

attached hoses and primed system

after jumping the power supply and doing a leak check i powered everything up and she was good to go

i forgot to order two more compression fitting to add the ram block into the loop. i'll just have to order some and add that in later next time i drain the system. im open to comments on the setup!

Hey, great job! thumb.gif
Be aware that ram sticks really don't require water cooling and you won't see any performance/temps gains from it.

If it's not too late, I suggest WCing your VGA's instead.

Cheers cheers.gif

I know you think your cards are beautiful as is with the air cooler, I felt the same way about my 690....but IMO once a card is blocked, waaay more sexy. biggrin.gif
