fary cry 3 alone is worth the price difference between the 6770 and the 7770!

As someone who owned a 550ti (and loved it for what it was) in the past, the 7770 is definitely a much better buy thumb.gif

well I don't plan on doing heavy gaming so what do you think 550ti or 7750? Which one will give me better performance?

550ti will be faster than a 7750 (albeit, not much), but not a 7770 which is the one that is ideal to get. The 550ti is more power hungry as well, so if you don't plan to game much on it, it uses more juice while idling as well. Basically at this point, the 550ti isn't much of a contender. For someone who doesn't game a 7750 is plenty, but for the small price difference, a 7770 will last you a bit longer performance wise, plus the whole free game thing therefore I absolutely cannot recommend a 550ti or 7750 over a 7770. thumb.gif

Any particular reason you were looking at the 550ti?

get a 7750 or 7770 with GDDR5 memory, and stick with the 965 BE cpu. my first build was a 965BE and an MSI 7750 and it's STILL chuggin along. i gave it to my brother when i built my current gaming rig. he only plays world of warcraft and a few other games, but i overclocked the 965 up to 4 Ghz and the 7750 from 800Mhz to 1Ghz, and he runs wow on ultra with shadows turned down. most other games he gets smooth framerates with high settings at 1920x1080 resolution.

few games even now even support more than 2 cores, as a quad core i don't see the 965 falling too far behind just yet. if it feels sluggish in a year or two, just stick a better cooler on it and overclock it.

it won't be a top end system that can run 6 monitors or anything like that, but for the money it's a damn good cpu and video card.

If you're getting a Phenom II i'd highly recommend this board so
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128519
1) you can overclock (and practically keep the CPU longer)
2) you can upgrade to vishera or steamroller and even overclock octa cores with that VRM setup.
