Fine... throw away a perfectly good key... let me have it before you toss it? I need to build another system.

I read that there was some secret algorithm that determines if it is a new PC or not. i.e. Change the HDD + CPU + memory within 30 days... reactivate. Change CPU + HDD over 60 days... you're ok. This was mentioned when the single installation of Vista ever issue came up. (MS has backed down and changed this policy). Therefore, Vista has a new system algorithm.... does XP?

Thread Starter
I aprreciate the responses, however I'm getting a little confused. Myself I think you should be able to install it on different computers just not two at the same time. But under this logic Bill Gates would still be working on making billions instead of giving away millions. So odds are it's just supposed to be a one time use and lose deal....most shaft jobs are. But I think I'm going to try it, if I have a problem I will give them a call and explain to them what I am doing. If they say no, then I 'll look at other OS software....
Here's a suggestion for the Mocrosoft watch dogs that are checking this forum. How about licensing the product for a person instead of a machine. Then if they give to everybody and there mother and the whole city of Dallas is using the same verison you will atleast have enough proof to sue somebody.

Something like 'my CPU died and had to be replaced' should fly
A replacement, not an upgrade is what should get the reactivation to fly.
