You're not really going to get any better than the HAF 912 for $70 or less, so I'd say it was a good choice.

This is a really good case though with USB 3.0: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146084

I wouldn't say better than the HAF, but if you're not that concerned about it having super ultimate construction quality, this one is great quality too and has everything you need for $45.

Oh, and it's almost the same price (the H220 is $20 more). It's sold out almost everywhere, but it'll be well worth it to subscribe to the notifiers on these sites when they come in (NCIX will do price matching):

If you want to splurge and get even better performance from it, get some Noctua NF-F12 fans to put on there. I've found them on Amazon for ~$20/ea., which is a steal.

Corsair PSU, swap with a SeaSonic. This one is 750W and 80 Plus Bronze as well, but $10 cheaper than the Corsair (on sale, marked down from $230), and SeaSonic makes better PSUs: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151107

That said, good luck with the new build biggrin.gif

+1000 just gonna say the same thing. except get the gold 80+ you wont regret it everything else has pretty much been mentioned.

i started with a 7770oc gigabyte 1.1 ( faster clock then the 2.0 due to issues they released 2.0) both of the ones i had work great ( me and my wifes ) but you cant play any new game @ 1920 at good quality. mmos i have played it played fine at max ~45fps ( wow swtor and a few others ) so up to you depending on what you want ( it did play mid level quality ok though ) so make your mind up on what you want to game at just picked up a 7970 today actually [ironically too busy cleaning to do anything with it except run a few benches ]

Cases? Hmm, I don't know about cases there tongue.gif
As for the graphics card, This, it is a fair bit more ~$60 (with the cashback) but it will defiantly be worth it, it's the mid-range card, a 7770 is more of a budget gamers card. The 2GB of VRAM is better for more current games, the card is a ot faster in general too.

Well, I assumed he was overclocking (as it looked from the H100i listed), but he's not. He chose the stuff he chose because he wanted good stuff but wasn't sure what to buy (fairly strict budget). I think we got him switched to the 8320 (saves $25 over the 8350), the Hyper 212+ since he's not overclocking (saves $90 over the H100i), a 650W SeaSonic rather than 750W Corsair PSU (saves $20 there), and he pretty much just wanted a solid house with USB 3.0 ports on the font to pack it all into, so the NZXT Tempest 210 should do him fine there (saves $25 there over the HAF 912).

He chose a $130 Radeon 7770, so if he puts that money back into the pool with his $160 he saved above, he has about $300 to put into something like a GTX 660 Ti or Radeon 7870.

It depends of if you're looking to overclock. If you want to overclock, the only fan I could suggest would be either the Silver Arrow or a Noctua heatsink, but I wouldn't really suggest air cooling for overclocking (also those fans are about the same price as a water cooler and don't perform as well). Also with those big heatsinks, you have to watch what kind of RAM you put in there because they will cover the RAM slots (at least 1 or 2 of the slots), so you'd want to go with RAM that's low profile and doesn't have a big fancy heatsink on the modules (you didn't say what RAM you were going to use). If you're not overclocking, or only looking for MAYBE 100 - 200 MHz, you could probably get away with something like a Hyper 212 and it wouldn't block your RAM slots..
That's bullcrap. Every single bench i've seen shows SB-E outperforming the H100i at lower prices
In any case he just needs a hyper 212 + NOT EVO! And that's the end of it. If water cooling http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118136 or http://pcpartpicker.com/part/zalman-cpu-cooler-lq315
No even with a Hyper 212 you could ram into the RAM slots (pun intended tongue.gif) with the fan facing upfront where it should be not the other way round.
I mean, what's the point of heatspreaders nowadays? Just get XMS3 RAM or Samsung green or G.Skill Ares

Sanity ... I use a freaking AFB1212SHE next to me at full blast and not be disturbed by it

The 7870 is a solid choice, and you'll be very happy with it. I assume you (or someone using the PC) do some gaming, right? If so, you'll be very pleased with the rig. If not, you don't need the 7870, either.

The 7870 with the 8320 CPU will probably run all of those on ultra @ 1080p. You're going to be very happy with the results of this rig for sure. It'll be a really good little gaming setup for you.
