I'm not an expert but I believe the projects are broken in to pieces or work units. If you check your stats you should see your WU count going up. Also you can look at the numbers behind the project code and they will change with each different WU.

But I am very new to this and a lot of the documentation is for older versions of the FAH project. So i am probably wrong on parts if not all of what I just said.

biggrin.gif but I did just pass half a million points today so i am happy either way.

Also since I've went back to 13.1 do I need to install the latest caps? I believe I do since I believe only beta drivers come loaded with them.

7662 is currently the only project on beta afaik. A project is split up in several smaller pieces, WUs, and thats what you ses. The numbers after 7662 is changing for each wu. There are three sub-groups.

I'm getting ~14k PPD on my 6990 for both cores. Updated to Catalyst 13.1 yesterday, now I have ~6 minute TPF. Is this expected or is there something wrong?

what is tpf? im on 13.1 now with caps and my tpf is 2 min 59 seconds.
edit: nvm i googled it. Time Per Frame - How long it takes for one frame, or one percent of a work unit, to complete.

I hate to keep asking questions but if i try folding on the cpu it locks up my system forcing me to hard reset it. Any idea? I have no no issue with games etc. OC is stable in prime95 no problem but when i start up a wu on the cpu it locks it up i also take a hit in my gpu load usually knocks it down to about 70-80 percent load

Yeah, seems like each WU wants to finish in ~10 hours. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with this. I'm definitely on 0x17 and I do not wish to overclock.

My TPF is ~2:30 for each GPU running WU 7662 0x17. So I would call that normal.

What CPU? When I was doing the 0x16 units my 7950s were trying to take 10-20% of my 3770 so i could only run one card for folding or I had to manually set the CPU to 6 threads. Even then it reduced my CPU PPD by 10K but I after trying a number of different combinations I found 1 card and CPU to give me the most PPD.

I didn't see if you had tried the CPU by itself, or tried to reduce the number of threads it was using manually. Could you try just the CPU w/ no GPU and manually set the threads to 1 and see what it does.

My 3570 rig with a Nvidia 650ti dropped PPD from 36K to 18K when I tried it on the client-type beta. The TPF went up a lot from the normal 0x16 units. maybe they are just bigger or optimized for the AMD cards. I dunno but I will go where the PPD points.

I just changed it back when I got home and will have to keep an eye on it tonight. (still trying to catch up to the top 1000)
