Zotac GTX660 Core Clock maxed at 549!?!?! CRAP! plz HELP!

I purchased a new Zotac GTX 660 standard edition from newegg that arrived today, installed it and booted up afterburner and noticed the core clock maxes out at 549 and cannot go beyond that!?

The details page says its 993 mhz, boost clock 1059! But, my card in afterburner and the evga tool cant go beyond 549mhz for the core clock, memory clock 1000. This card has core voltage unlocked and maxes at 100, and power limit is normal at 110

Is there a problem? I was told by another user here that this is not normal and that core clock should go much higher. Ugh!

First step would probably be to uninstall AB and EVGA Precision X and uninstall and re-install the drivers. From there, re-install EVGA Precision X and see if it's fixed. If not, then I'm out of ideas other than RMA ing the card.

uninstalled both overclock programs, then reinstalled. Afterburner showing all incorrect things, but EVGA Px is showing the stock details correctly. Roughly core clock 993mhz and boost clock 1953.

However, in EVGA PX the gpu clock offset says it maxes at 549
mem clock offset maxes at 1000

MSI afterburner was showing terribly incorrect information. With a +10 on the GPU clock offset and voltage maxed to 1150, I was able to bump up the core clock to a smooth 1100 or so and had no signs of problems with a 60c temperate average with fan on auto. Now, I was told by another user he was stable at 1275. The FPS for Tomb Raider is an average of lower 30s with everything maxed out except AA which was off.

Afterburner still not registering any correct information and is totally different from EVGA. Is GPU clock offset at all important at this point if I can squeeze out 1100 on the gpu clock? I mena, thats only a small increase from 1053 stock. How do I obtain better results?

I have this card and something is definitely wrong with yours, or possibly your software. You said AB shows it incorrectly, but Precision X shows it correctly - what does GPU-Z say? GPU-Z says mine is at 993 MHz (stock, but mine is overclocked to 1090 MHz (including boost, 1155 with Kepler)).

BTW, I don't use AB, but if it says "offset", that's usually a different measurement I believe. It may not be accounting for a possible multiplier on the core.

Every card is different, and yours might not overclock as well as another.

I would suggest uninstalling MSI AB. It's generally bad practice to have two OC programs installed, and it seems more people are using EVGA Precision X with the 6XX series cards.

As Clowerweb suggested, see what GPU-Z is reading for clockspeeds.

GPU Z showing all the correct information,. 993 and 1059.

Seems all is well now. However, SLI performance seems really low for Tomb Raiders Benchmark. I should be getting 100+FPS with AA off, but I only average 60fps with no overclock. Ugh...the new beta drivers increase fps by a whole 10 frames on average.
