Real world "gaming, video etc": fx 6300 is better, less power consumption, more oc etc

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/203?vs=699

Yes on stock is better because it has higher core clock. At 3.5 GHz 1055T will smash the FX 6300. Real world and synthetic benchmarks scenario. And did you see above that I mentioned I don't care about power consumption?

"At 3.5 GHz 1055T will smash the FX 6300."

We can test to see if its true...

isn't the FX-8320 only like $40 more than the FX-6300.?
I'd have to say the FX-8320 is by far a better deal than the FX-6300...
to me anyways..

Not trying to derail the thread or anything but think about this.

These are my Scores

Now as you can see this is a CPU from 2008, that I happened to have picked up for slightly under 300 bucks only a few months after sandy came out during the mother issue, cpu + mobo.
As you can see that even a first gen i7 still has a lot of life at 4.3ghz. Thats first gen i7, pick up a Sandy or Ivy chip clock it up the 4.6-5ghz range and you will have yourself one good upgrade.

When you look at the scores look at both the single core and Multi core scores. While the 8350 @ 4.8ghz may have a higher multi core score the single thread score is probably even or slightly lower then a 4.2ghz six core phenom. If you want to go AMD wait for Steamroller, your gonna want that extra single core power. Though if you really want a guaranteed satisfying upgrade get a Haswell chip when they come out.

Better to save up your money for a real upgrade then a slight bump in threaded performance.

I'm not a strong believer in IPC.

< Phenom II x6 1090T at 4.3ghz turbo and 4.0ghz on all cores.

< only 4 modules 4 core FX 8120 slight bump in clock and fps because of it.

all cores. FX 8120
