true but Steamroller is to be compatible as well.
AFAIK.

my comment is more about the CF-X 7950's, the new X series or whatever is a few weeks away now.
but the 7950's are so cheap now! plus you know how launch price goes, it's way up there!

instead of starting off with CF-X maybe get a single X290 (flagship) and then CF-X later..
just giving possible options and not actually recommending..

Been doing some recalibrating of my base and benching overclocks, and it really becomes more readily apparent that the 6300 is *at best* a sidegrade to an X6. My 1055T (95 W version) beats the 6300 on a performance per watt basis in both single and multi thread benchmarks with ease; it takes 800-1000 MHz more on the 6300, and anywhere from +.1 to +.2 vcore to match the benchmark output that my 1055T pulls at 3.65 GHz on stock vcore. This means that even the 8320/8350 is only a modest upgrade from an X6, and requires more than, or equal voltage, to beat it. No wonder X6's are still going for $150+. SR is (hopefully) really the chip that BD should have been in the first place.
