In need of a bag - Page 2

The Think Tank Retrospectives are very nice shoulder bags. Slings and messenger bags are more my style, easier to manage when riding a bike or running around. I suggest you go try a couple bags on and see what works for you.

Here is the photo bag I use. I know, it isn't a messenger bag, but thanks to the way it's designed, you can access your lenses quite easily by taking the shoulder straps off and swinging the bag around onto the front of your body. (works much better than I expected). Since it isn't possible for it to be opened while it's on your back, it's also an excellent backpack for traveling and visiting cities where wallets and cameras have a tendency to go missing. I've gone all over Europe with it and not worried once about my gear being stolen off my back. Mine is usually packed with a Canon 7D, EF-S 15-85, EF 70-300 L, EF 100 Macro L, Arca Swiss Z1 ballhead, and a bunch of accessories.

I currently use a Timbuk 2 messenger bag which I really like the build of, durable materials and a nice choice of sizes, colors, ect.

For my daily carry I generally just carry one camera and a lens wrapped in a padded wrap.

For outings where I want more gear Ill generally throw in the padded insert from a previous bag I had.

They make a large variety of color, size, ect. combos for the above two links and there are multiple manufacturers available.

The combination these two allows you to have a pretty flexible setup and get the bag you like. I looked at a lot of camera bags and couldn't find one that was pretty light, had enough flexibility and wasn't some stupid combo of colors.

The Tenba Small messenger bag looks like a great choice. I don't own one, but I plan on buying one sometime. Check it out.

Billingham 445 is really nice, quality is top notch and will carry a camera w/grip lens attached and 2-3 other lens no bigger than a 70-200.
