NO. We do not need to raise taxes. WE NEED to control spending. Our government is rifle with entitlements and fraud, for every dollar raised in tax, 95cents is stolen.

Mores taxes more spending for the government........ Wont fix the problem. ........... Reduce government.

I wonder why rolleyes.gif

I don't think tax should be placed online at all. It's enough in the stores. The in store TO online shoppers is still Day and Night

Dont be silly, they want to tax CO2 biggrin.gif

Washington state Rep. Ed Orcutt (R–Kalama), a ranking member of the State Transportation Committee, argues that bicycling is bad for the environment and says bike riders should have to pay a tax to help maintain the state's roads. Orcutt made his comments in an email, which was posted by the Cascade bicycle club blog on Saturday. In the message, Orcutt states bike riders pollute the environment because they produce more carbon dioxide than car drivers.

"Since CO2 is deemed to be a greenhouse gas and a pollutant, bicyclists are actually polluting when they ride,"

If I'm buying something online from another state, why should my state care since i didn't buy it here, and why should the other state care since I don't live there?

Your state cares because they want "their" sales tax money regardless of where you buy something. The other state (where the retailer is located) doesn't factor into it.

What a gross misunderstanding of economic "needs". We do not "need" to tax online sales. I curious if you can demonstrate the need, though, specifically showing estimates of the expected tax revenue versus current and projected government expenditures.

No one has yet discussed how to legally implement a system where someone in one state purchases goods online in another state. Who do you tax? Who receives the tax? By what authority is that tax levied? What about sales where the products are stored offsite, potentially in yet another state?
