Blue screen of Death Help?

Thread Starter
Im not sure why this message pops up, No one has changed any of the hardware or anything
and now my computer won't even boot up because it keeps rebooting and restarting over and over again.

When i put in a windows 7 disk to restore the computer, and i press a key to enter the cd at boot,
it will load the files...and then after it loads the files and the windows logo first appears,
the BSOD then appears quickly after

UPDATE: F8 safe mode and all the other modes while pressing F8 dont work, it just keeps restarting frown.gif

Please help, thank you.

here is a picture of the BSOD message:

Looks like a memory error to me, have you tried running memtest? I wouldn't be surprised if you RAM went.

my guess is the hard drive is failing.

try taping the esc key and see if you get a boot options menu (or if you know what key will give you the boot choice use that)...chose the hard drive with the OS on it and then tap F8 for all your good for. That might help get into safe mode.

Though it really should be defaulting to a choice to enter in safe mode

if you have the windows disk, put it in and get to a command prompt. Enter chkdsk C: /r (or whatever drive your OS is on) and let is run. See if that helps.

I'm tricky like that wink.gif

As Vagrant said it could also be from HDD or less likely PSU or even GPU Vram.. but I would still hedge on Ram. Let us know how memtest goes or if you need a hand in how to use it.

Ok cool, how do i Run a memtest?

UPDATE TO EVERYONE: I pressed F8 and the screen came up to where I could choose safe mode, after pressing enter on the safe mode option along with all the other options, and I chose all of them and it just keeps restarting, over and over and over and it doesnt give me a BSOD, but it wont reboot either....

Can you see if the hard drive is being detected in the POST? If not get into the BIOS and see if it is there
