My poor iPhone is heavily used and dropped. Because of this awesome thing called a case, it has never cracked or even scratched! Even when landing face down on concrete. Such an amazing thing those phone cases!

Energy has to go somewhere.

Typically a case is designed to dissipate any extra energy (that it can't absorb itself) evenly across the wide, fairly sturdy back and sides of a phone where there are no real important functioning parts. The iPhone (or at least the one you are referring to) stupidly places glass right where that energy is going to go. Smart right?

Furthermore, your friend undoubtedly got the lighter version of the otterbox (along with every other iphone user ever, because they don't want to "ruin" the "perfect form factor" of their iphones rolleyes.gif). Lighter case = less energy can be absorbed without being transferred into the phone itself.

In general, even the lighter otterbox should protect a phone against NORMAL damages. That particular iPhone design is just poor.

The only fuel you can refuel it with is iFuel.
