Best GPU for editing software

Thread Starter
Hi Guys !

I posted a thread relating to help me build a computer rig dedicated to programming, graphics, compiling, multitasking, video, etc. This will not be a gaming rig... very very little gaming will be done with it. With that said, I got all my parts ready and these are the following:

Processor: i7-3930k
Processor Cooler: H100
Mobo: Asus P9X79 Deluxe or the Asus Sabertooth X79
Harddrive: 2 TB WD Caviar Black
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB
Case: CM Storm Stryker
Optical Drive: Asus BW-1281ST
PSU - 1050 Corsair HX

The only thing I need is a graphics card. Most of the people here helped by say go with the GTX 670, 680 or the AMD 7970, 7870. I don't really know which one to choose. Please help me with this issue. Thanks !!!

Daman246.... i will be using photoshop, fireworks, adobe dreamweaver, flash, illustrator, maya 3d... etc smile.gif

lacrossewacker and shilka... i agree.. the psu is overkill.. but what do you recommend ? smile.gif

Graphics card also depends on what resolution you'll be gaming at.
He said he's not gaming.

Honestly for a non-gaming machine I'd just throw in a GTX650 Ti or vanilla 650. And yes that PSU is overkill. You'd be fine with a quality 80+ 750W.

get any card of those you mentioned, more money => better gaming. You really can't go wrong. You won't need more then 600W for one GPU system. A nice SeaSonic/Corsair/Antec/Silverston and many others, your choice really. Again, can't make a wrong decision.

Also, that case is my #1 choice since I love 'Storm' series, but it is really really big. You sure you need it?

I'm kinda partial towards either the EVGA GTX 670 FTW or GTX 680 SC Signature 2. Then again, I am an NVIDIA proponent...

AFAIK, Maya 3D, and Adobe Software will be better to run at NVIDIA Card....so my vote is go to 670, though. You will get both, better performance at those software and game...
