From what I've seen in this thread, there was no effort to contact Lenovo, correct? Yet there's a condemnation of the MANUFACTURER based on what happened with ONE RETAILER. This does not compute, if you'll pardon the pun. Lenovo is a reputable company with decent customer service; I've bought directly from them with nothing but satisfaction. Remember, when buying new hardware that ends up defective, the OEM is usually a reliable plan B if the retailer fails you.

Don't even apologize, OP doesn't even know how to read temps right.

While your staff may not have been %100, kinda hard to argue with a guy who thinks his laptop is getting into 120c and actually believes it. Im a night auditor at a HIE, some guests are just naturally a pain in the ass.

TigerDirect don't apologize it is probably not your fault.
Beside, he didn't provide us any proofs to make us actually believe it.
I believe that he probably misread the temp like it was in 120*F rather 120*C.

So, what I get is:

1) TD quit the conversation because it was taking too long. How many time are we speaking of?
2) The laptop was overheating. Tried contacted Lenovo directly, or searching for BIOS updates?
3) They asked you to wait 3-5 business days. This is pretty standard in big businesses. They don't have one dude dedicated the whole day to each individual customer smile.gif

So, until further proof is given, I won't side with any of both.

P.D: GGTSE (Gigabyte) has one of the best customer services when you get the right guy, but they take 3 days to reply your mails. Patience man, patience.

Edit: 115ºC you say? Impossible. The CPUs have a built in protection. They will completely shut down WAY before that. In fact, my desktop Trinity APU shuts down itself at 80ºC. The laptop version shoul shut down immediately at 95-100ºC <-- confirmed, thermal shutdown is at 100ºC.

Tigerdirect does not have any active program in place that addresses the virtual world in terms of forums, twitter, faceboook, etc when it comes to CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I agree, especially since most CPU's ( more so with mobile ) will simply shut themselves down far below that to prevent damage.
