Warframe Information and Discussion Thread - Page 26

Renewal really is a very weak ability. Nekros's Desecrate puts out more health than Renewal. Trinity's Blessing gives everyone god mode for 24 seconds when maxed out.

I have a few problems with Warframe. The main one is their drop tables. They're geared in such a way that you'll have to grind the same levels for hours on end to get the necessary prime parts. It's either that or spending a ridiculous amount of money buying prime parts/items. I've already spent $20 on this game for slots. I'm not going to put in a total of $100 to get everything. That's ridiculous.

Another big problem is DE's obsession with knockdown. Almost every Grineer enemy has a way to knock you down. Knockdown is a horrible game mechanic. All it achieves is killing the pace of the game and ruining the fun. I only run Rhino through Grineer maps these days because I'm sick of getting thrown around like a ping pong ball.

Blast damage my friend... Blast damage... I am running with a tetra atm and for most missions that aren't void blast damage works wonders. They cannot knock you down if they are stunned/knocked down themselves. I tend to kill my targets before they have a chance to cry to mommy. Anyway that's for normal stuff. I haven't found a frame, apart from rhino/frost, that I want to take to the void yet. And the fact I need to acquire a potato for said frame..

Rhino is a great frame to take to the void, I've done it a few times, I find it hard to find a team to go with though and the enemies in the void barely drop any resources so I find myself running out of ammo really quickly. They also rarely drop power balls, so I find it hard to keep my skin up.

There's where the challenge comes from. Synergy from the team and ammo mutators on your main weapon of choice.

I find this different to war thunder. This takes me 4-5 days to level frames/gear and it's consistent. If I want to min/max it though it's the mods+potatoes+forma that take the effort. And prime gear, but I am not even going to start to touch that till I find a frame I want to take to the void...

Blast/Corrosive does have the KD effect but you sacrifice a lot of damage by going that route. I'd rather just go Rhino and use Radiation/Viral.

I've already put in $20 just for weapon/frame slots and a few cosmetics. I'm not willing to put in an extra $10 or more per weapon. I've seen Prime items go for ~$10 on the community market. The Prime Access pack is absurd at $200. The most I have ever spent on a game is $100, and that was with DLC purchases included.

DE incurs a lot less costs than your typical MMO. They only have to maintain their master servers and a development team. They can easily break even on those costs with their weekly updates. I've seen so many impatient people buy new items the day they come out. That's about $10 a pop just to get one weapon 1-4 days early. This doesn't include the astronomically priced Prime Access packs. I've seen a lot of people buy those too.

Void drops used to be a lot better. A little while before they introduced Prime trading they ruined the void drop tables. They blamed it on the RNG. As a programmer I don't believe it. The most likely scenario is that they diluted the void drop tables with junk rewards and set the chances of junk rewards to be significantly higher than good rewards. This is why you typically get credit caches 70% of the time in T3 Survival. It's all by design to milk more money out of the players. I'm not falling for it. If I can't get those items because DE wants to put them behind a soft paywall then so be it.

As a programmer, the RNG is working as intended. After spending the last week in t2 and t3 survivals I didn't not see credit caches 70% of the time in t3's, in fact, except for a few games where the cache was rewarded back to back (t2 only at that), I saw more prime parts of various patterns than any thing else (usually a dup of something I already have, like getting a sicarus prime BP for the 13th time that day). Even Rare resources like circuits or oroken cells are barely seen.

Also there is no point in flaming are talking so belligerently about the impatient, in essence they are supporting a game they like to play. As for me, I ponied up the $200 or $250 it was for Grand master Founder and couldn't have been happier about doing it, I have gotten far more fun out of this game in its BETA form than in the 8 or 9 years I played World of Warcraft as a launched title. Also, some of those buying the weapons/appearance mods/frames day of also might be youtubers and need to do so because the "fan base" usually expects Day of release "first impressions/break down" videos; while it is a unrealistic demand, if the youtuber is trying to make something of their channel, then appealing to the masses is going to be the best course of action.

In essence if they have enough to cash to say screw it I don't feel like waiting, then so what, it helps keep the servers going and doesn't hinder your experience with the game at all.

@ British bob: I mostly play top tier voids atm, and while leveling a weapon or two for mastery rank at that. With survival and t3 defense being the exceptions, you can take any frame to any void mission and do well. The frame isn't the issue, its all about the weapons you bring. While Potatoes are hard to come by, the void survivals give forma BP's out like crazy and a well forma'd weapon w/o a potato is still very viable. As for the Prime weapons, i have them all and leveling boltor/Akbronko/Ankros now and must say the Burstron/Paris Prime are the 2 primary's you want (with out the needed of dojo) for top end ****, and even then 2 or 3 forma for most builds, 4 forma for that W.T.F ridiculous build that you can take to wave 60+ Defenses. I mention them as I have extras form farming for the new stuff (still need that damn Rhino Prime BP : /) that I'd be willing to help you out with no problem.

In fact, if you can host games decently well, I have at least 5 of each key in the 1 and 2 towers I can trade you for hosting purposes just to help get your foot in the door.

It's not necessarily about viable frames. It's about enjoyable ones... I have potato'd rhino and frost, but they just aren't fun. XD

Trinity is now building as I reach rank 28 with Oberon. I also have the part for Nyx and Valkyr. Add in my rank 11 Loki and I have a few frame to keep me going for a while. I just need some other interesting wep to level with them. Currently doing Dex's then I need a need pistol. At least I have 3-4 melee weps I can rank up.
